This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, process, store, share and protect your digital personal data in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and other applicable Indian laws.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only necessary digital personal data:

  • Voluntarily provided by you: Name/username, email, mobile number, ad details (title, description, price, photos, location), messages sent/received, profile photo, optional ID documents (for verification).
  • Automatically collected: IP address, device ID, browser/OS type, usage data (pages visited, time spent, clicks, ads viewed), approximate location (from IP or selected city/area).
  • Cookies & tracking technologies: We use cookies, pixels, web beacons and local storage for session management, preferences, analytics, personalized ads and fraud prevention. You can manage cookies via browser settings.

2. Purposes of Processing & Lawful Basis

We process your data for lawful purposes under DPDP Act:

  • With your consent (free, specific, informed, unconditional, unambiguous via affirmative action) — e.g., showing ads, messaging, promotions.
  • For legitimate uses (without consent) — e.g., fraud/spam prevention, service delivery, legal compliance, employment/voluntary data provision.
  • To provide core services: display local ads, enable buyer-seller communication, improve Platform, send service notifications.
  • Optional marketing (you can withdraw consent/opt-out anytime).

3. Notice & Consent

Before collecting data based on consent, we provide clear notice in plain language (English + Hindi/other languages on request) detailing:

  • What data is collected
  • Purpose of processing
  • Your rights (access, correction, erasure, grievance)
  • How to withdraw consent or complain to Data Protection Board

Consent is granular and withdrawable easily. For children/disabled persons, verifiable parental/guardian consent required; no harmful processing or targeted ads to children.

4. Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. Sharing is limited to:

  • Other users (only when you initiate contact — e.g., shared phone/email in messages)
  • Service providers (hosting, analytics, payment gateways) bound by confidentiality & DPDP compliance
  • Legal requirements (court order, government request, protect rights/safety)
  • Merger/acquisition (with notice to you)

5. Data Security & Retention

We implement reasonable security safeguards (HTTPS/TLS encryption, firewalls, access controls, regular audits). We retain data only as long as necessary for purposes or legal requirements, then delete/anonymize. In case of breach, we notify affected Data Principals and Board as required.

6. Your Rights as Data Principal

  • Access, correction, erasure of your data
  • Withdraw consent (affects future processing)
  • Nominate another person for data handling on death/incapacity
  • Grievance redressal (email privacy@classifly.com; response within timelines per DPDP Rules)
  • Complain to Data Protection Board of India if unsatisfied

7. Children's Privacy

Platform not for children under 18. We do not knowingly process minor's data without verifiable guardian consent. If discovered, data deleted immediately.

8. International Transfers

Data may be processed outside India by service providers. We ensure adequate protection via contracts/compliance.

9. Changes to Policy

We may update this policy. Changes posted here with new "Last updated" date. Significant changes notified via email/in-app.
